David Silverstein, a Bayer Properties principle, was
quoted as saying about including a public building "It just goes
to show these types of venues are ever-changing," "If you can
bring those kind of public services into the development, it's great."
Front Range Village will have 76,000 square feet of office space on the
second floors of the downtown area, another very unique feature not
found in other lifestyle shopping areas. The Village also has 900,000
square feet of retail space which makes it now the largest lifestyle
center in the region surpassing it's southern neighbor The Promenade
Shops located in Centerra at Loveland. The cost of the development
will exceed $120 million. CMH Architects is the
project architect and Michael Tillman of that firm stated the design
will contain both the elements normally found in lifestyle centers
and will combine that with another unique feature the traditional
architecture found in downtown Fort Collins. Front
Range Village is also being developed according to Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design, or LEED, standards. The program encourages
sustainable building practices and emphasizes the use of locally
harvested and manufactured materials. With each new
project or addition to existing developments, Bayer tries to listen to
shoppers and integrate their desires, such as more pedestrian-friendly
features, Silverstein said. |
